Two Men Arrested in Ogun State for Stealing Sallah Ram

The Ogun state police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Wednesday, confirmed the arrest of Adetunji Alagbe and Opeyemi Ogunlokun, for stealing the sallah ram belonging to one Mr. Sodia Abolore.

 

According to Oyeyemi, the two suspects Alagbe and Ogunlokun, were arrested after a complaint was lodged at the Ogijo divisional headquarters of the state’s police command by Sodiq Abolore, the owner of the stolen ram.

 

Oyeyemi in the released statement said, Abolore complained that he was sleeping in his home when at about 3 am, he heard an unusual noise in his compound which made him peep through the window.

 

Peeping through the window, Abolore said, he discovered that the iron gate he used to block the entrance of the shelter where he kept the ram, has been pulled down, which made him come outside that early hours of the day only to discover that his  id el kabir ram, which he bought for N120,000 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand naira) has been stolen.

 

Sodiq Abolore,  in his statement to the police, further stated that, when he searched around for his sallah (ileya) ram, he saw three men, forcing his ram into a waiting Mazda car booth, which made him raise an alarm, and a distress call to the police.

 

PPRO Oyeyemi again revealed that, Abolore told the police that, three (3) men came for the ‘ram stealing’ mission, but two (2) among the men were apprehended with the ram, while the other one escaped.

 

Oyeyemi said the two suspects have been taken to custody, and that the Commissioner of Police, CP. Lanre Bankole, has ordered an investigation of the case, with the aim of charging Adetunji Alagbe and Opeyemi Ogunlokun to court.
