Uber Driver Killed, Car Stolen, CP Odumosu Commiserates with Family, Assures them of Justice

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has commiserated with the family of an Uber driver killed by criminally minded persons, after carting away his Toyota Corolla Saloon car with Reg. No. Lagos KSF 830 GX.

 

The suspects, 27 years old Rilwan Nasiru, and his accomplices, Sodiq Taiwo, and Oladimeji, ages 23 and 20 respectively, were said to have booked an Uber online service, ensnared the driver to Meiran area of the State, where he was murdered and his car taken.

 

 

The criminal syndicate, after the ugly act, was said to have dumped the driver’s body on the Abule Egba Bridge, along the Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway.

 

Thanks to the report made by the victim’s fiancée, at the Meiran Police Station on 6th of September, 2021, which was immediately followed up by the men in uniform and the eventual arrest of the suspects in their hideouts, from where the stolen car was also recovered.

 

CP Odumosu, who was pleased with the arrest, assured the victim’s family that, the criminal elements will be duly prosecuted; and directed that the case be transferred to the State’s Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.

 

He however, admonished drivers, using online platforms for their contacts, to be security conscious and to be careful of passengers that call for their service.
