We’re Not Aware Of Justice Odili’s Abuja Home Invasion, But We Will Investigate It … NPF

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, through the Force spokesperson, Frank Mba, on Monday, in an issued statement, has said, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, (NPF), is not aware of the Abuja home invasion of Justice Mary Odili.

 

The Police Force also distanced itself from reports that, its operatives invaded the Justice’s residence, with the claim that, the Police Force, did not at any time, order its operatives, to carry out such assignment.

 

The IGP, however, described the incident as ‘unfortunate’ and ‘unacceptable’, and ordered a detailed investigation into the incident.

 

IGP Usman Baba has also, directed the Force Intelligence Bureau, (FIB), to conduct a discrete investigation into the incident.

 

He has also directed the Commissioner of Police, of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), Abuja, to ensure that security is heightened around the street and residence of, Justice Mary Odili, in order to ensure her safety, and to prevent a repeat of the unfortunate incident.

 

Meanwhile, a detailed investigation into the Friday, 29th October, 2021 incident, has been ordered by the IGP; and also a call for calm within the area of the unfortunate incident.

 

IGP Usman Alkali Baba gave the promise that, the Force will do all within its powers to unravel the perpetrators, and to know the motives behind the security breach, and bring the offenders to book.

 

He reiterated the Force’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties of the citizens, in this case, members of the Judiciary.

 

He assured Nigerians that, details of Police findings, would be made public after the investigation.
