Yobe State Police Command Nabs Wanted Usman Ali, A Specialist In Phone Theft + Other Criminal Activities

Yobe state Police Command, has arrested one Usman Ali, a 35 year old man, in the early hours of Friday, 7th of January, 2022, for his involvement in criminal activities ranging from stealing of cell phones and other valuables.

 

According to the statement issued by the Yobe state Police Command spokesperson, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, on Monday, suspect Usman Ali has allegedly stolen over 200 cell phones, and other valuables, ranging from cell phones, TV sets, money, jewelries etc.

 

ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, who confirmed the alleged crime, said, Usman Ali was arrested by Police detectives of the Crack Squad Unit, following a distressed call from the ward head of Marfa-Kallam Village, in Yobe state.

Over four houses were said to have been invaded by Usman Ali, and his gang members, to steal valuables the night before they were nabbed by Police officers.

 

Suspect Ali, who confessed to the crime said, himself and other members of the gang, specialize in intruding peoples’ home at night, to steal, and cart away valuables they’re disposed to, which can be anything useful.

 

The 35 years old suspect also confessed that, himself and his team, patronize noodles, and tea sellers’ spots just to study their target environment before launching out on their evil missions.

Usman Ali again stated that, they usually operate within the hours of 2.00am, and 3.00am, sneaking into victims homes through doors, windows, and/or any other penetrable openings.

 

ASP. Dungus Abdulkarim said, the Command had been on the trail of Usman Ali, who was one of the most wanted person on the Command’s watch list, and other members of his criminal syndicate for a short while now.

 

Spokesman Abdulkarim again disclosed that, preliminary investigation showed that, the suspect, Usman Ali, had stolen more than 200 cell phones over the years, which he sells at a minimum price of N800 each.
