The Lagos State Sexual Offences Court, sitting in Ikeja, on Thursday, revealed that, the 14-year old teenager, allegedly defiled by James Olanrewaju, a.k.a Baba Ijesha, a Nollywood actor, showed ruptured vagina which has since healed.

This is according to a prosecution witness, who also is a medical practitioner, and the Clinical Director of, Women At Risk International Foundation, (WARIF,) Dr. Aniekan Makanjuola.

Dr. Aniekan Makanjuola, while under cross examination, said, further examination of the minor showed that, prior to the incident, the child has not been sexually active.

Dr. Makanjuola, gave the testimony, based on evidences after a thorough examination of the child, before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, the presiding judge over the case.

The witness, who told the court that the victim was referred to her organization by the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) of Nigeria Police Force, (NPF), clarified that, the report she gave, was not based on the story told by the victim, nor on the account given by her mother, but it was purely based on the forensic examination carried out on her.

Dr. Makanjuola said,

“Based on our findings, we sent our client to the laboratory to conduct further test on HIV 1, and II, Hepatitis B and C. They were all negative. We placed her (the victim), on prophylactic anti-biotics.

The doctor continued,

“She was sent for psychological assessment, and we gave a report of our findings and examinations. I authenticated the report as head of clinical services, and sent it to State CID, Panti.”

The witness said the examination of the victim was conducted by medical personnel and a psychologist.

Justice Taiwo has however, after listening to witness Makanjuola’s account, adjourned further hearing of the case till November 5 and 12.
