Seven girls, between ages 10 – 12, are said to have suffered a boat mishap in Gamafoi village, Kafin Hausa local government area, Jigawa state, on their way for a religious gathering.
The children who were all traveling from Gafasa to Gasanya village, in Auyo local government area of the State, encountered the unfortunate incident which claimed their lives. They are all since being buried.
Further information gathered revealed that, while seven (7) children lost their lives at the scene of the boat accident, three (3) others, were lucky enough to have escaped alive.
Other details of the unfortunate occurrence, remain sketchy as at the time of this report; but it was also confirmed that, the children who were in a hurry to get to the event, tried paddling the boat, in the absence of a paddler.
