Following the failure of the Super Eagles to qualify for the FIFA World Cup tournament which will be held in Qatar, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has decided to terminate the appointment of Austin Eguavoen, and other members of the technical crew of the team.
While some news reports reported that Eguavoen resigned few days after losing to the Black Stars of Ghana, NFF on Thursday, said, the football body has withdrew the two-and-half year’s contract, offered to the coaches with immediate effect.
Sacked Amaju Pinnick
NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, who broke the news on NFF website said,
“We thank the coaches and team officials for their service to the nation, and wish them success in their future endeavours.”
Dr. Sanusi also revealed that, the Technical Adviser, Augustine Eguavoen has consequently stepped down with immediate effect; adding that, after a proper review, a new crew will be announced that will lead the Super Eagles to face future challenges appropriately.
