2023: Asiwaju Tinubu’s Campaign Team Agitations Over VP Osinbajo’s Perceived Popularity

Although President Muhammadu Buhari has distanced himself from the 2023 presidential ticket, saying he has no preferred candidate, and that the better person should win the election, the Asiwaju Tinubu’s campaign team is not sure of what it can make of the popularity of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo as probably the preferred candidate for the seat of the presidency come 2023.

According to sources, Asiwaju Tinubu seem not to be happy with the development of the endorsement of VP Osinbajo in the North, South, and in Delta state, alluding the development to President Buhari preferring Osinbajo above any other candidate including, Asiwaju Tinubu.

Recall that, few days back, Tinubu had gone to Aso Villa to meet with Mr. President over his ambition to run for the presidential seat in the forthcoming elections.

It is however, not clear of what to make of this report that, Osinbajo is allegedly preferred by the President over Tinubu.

Consequently, Asiwaju Tinubu’s team, is now more desperate in their moves to gaining more ground and popularity for their candidate, adding that, the team is less concerned about mentioning the development to President Buhari; but from information gathered, Asiwaju Tinubu’s team worries have deepened over the recent reports.

Nevertheless, to again clear the air, VP’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, had deflated the rumour that, VP Yemi Osinbajo visited President Buhari on New Year day, just to seek his blessings/endorsement of his candidacy ahead of the 2023 elections.

Meanwhile, after a three hour meeting, the All Progressives Congress, (APC), has agreed to hold its convention in February but the party is yet to announce the specific date.

Political analysts are therefore hopeful that, all issues surrounding the presidential ticket and every other crisis within the party, may finally be resolved at the convention.
