In a prompt response to the incident that happened at the Abuja National Identity Day celebration on Thursday, September 16, the authorities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), in a swift reaction, has responded to the news of the ‘unwellness’ of the Commission’s Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, while confirming that Chairman Bawa has received medical attention, also said in the Statement issued on Thursday, that the EFCC boss is ‘hale and hearty’ and that he will be back at his desk soon.
Spokesperson Uwujaren affirmed,
“The chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa is hale and hearty”
“This clarification became necessary following an incident today September 16, 2021 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, felt unwell and had to return to his seat.
“He has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk.”
Recall that, Mr. Bawa was said to have stopped talking amidst a speech being delivered at the Abuja Thursday event, an event organised by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC)
and reportedly slumped.
