Gallant Amotekun Corps Rescues Kidnapped Victims in Ondo State

Amotekun, the southwest security outfit, launched in January 2020, has proven to be efficient in handling security matters within their domain of influence; as the Ondo State command of the Security network, drew the attention of the media by their swift and prompt reaction to releasing victims of today’s kidnap along the Idoani-Ifira road in Akoko South East Local Government Area of the State from the hands of their abductors.

 

Recall that, news from the media has earlier reported that, a Lagos bound 18-seater passengers’ bus has been hijacked by some unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

 

To this, the Ondo State members of the Amotekun Corps, deployed their expertise and rescued 9 out of the 12 people abducted during the ordeal. Adetunji Adeleye, the Ondo State Commander of Amotekun, who confirmed the incidence and the eventual rescue of the victims also said, there is an ongoing effort to rescue the remaining victims.

 

Ondo State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Olufunmi Odunlami, who also confirmed the incidence, assured Nigerians that, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command, will see to it that, other people still in the kidnappers den, would be rescued unhurt.

 

While the Amotekun Corps are still combing the forest for other abducted victims, residents within the community has blamed bad road portions as the cause of the ugly incidence.
