Lagos Pastor Arrested For Abduction Of A Catholic Priest In Imo

Izuchukwu Anoloba, a 35-year-old ‘Pastor,’ has been arrested by the Imo state Police command, for allegedly kidnapping one Fidelis Ekemgba, who happens to be a Catholic priest.

Anoloba, in his confession, said,

“I am a pastor with Apostolic Church of Christ in Lagos. I got ₦1.5 million from the kidnap of the priest. I never knew I will be arrested. I regret my actions because I am now a disgrace to the body of Christ and my family.”

 

Police report revealed how Pastor Izuchukwu Anoloba, and other suspects, were traced to Lagos, on intelligence gathering, for the abduction of 45-year-old Catholic Priest, Fidelis Ekemgba.

 

Reverend Father Ekemgba, who is in charge of Saint Peters Catholic Church, a parish in Umunohu Amakohia in the Ihitte/Uboma Local Government Area of the Imo state, was double-crossed, and whisked away by his abductors; among them was  the supposed pastor Anoloba, who has since confessed to the crime.

 

Anoloba also said the Revd. Fr. Ekemgba was held hostage for a week, during when he was forced to pay the sum of ₦5m as ransom.

 

Imo state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, during the parade of the suspects, described them as a ‘deadly gang.’

CP Hussaini confirmed that, the suspects were actually arrested in Lagos state, after an intelligence report gathered by men of the anti-kidnapping unit of the Imo state Police command.

 

He promised that the Imo state Police command will continue to make the state uncomfortable for criminals.
