Lagos Prophetess Bags Five Years Imprisonment Over N128 Million Fraud

The senior pastor and prophetess of the Temple of Praise Women Fellowship Global, Surulere, Lagos state, Linda Mabi-Praise, following her arraignment in court, has been charged with offenses bothering on N128 million fraud, and issuance of fake (dud) cheques to Accelsor Investment Partners Limited, in the guise that, her company, Mutano Energy Limited, is an accredited oil and gas company.

 

In a statement issued by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Mabi-Praise has earlier in March 2019, pleaded not guilty to the offense which stalled the proceedings.

 

However, in the course of the trial, EFCC’s counsel, Franklin Ofoma, called two witnesses, and also tendered several documentary pieces, as evidences to prove the case against the Prophetess Linda Mabi-Praise.

 

Consequently, based on evidences before the court, Justice S.O. Solebo, of the Special Offences Court, sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, found defendant Mabi-Praise guilty of the alleged fraud, and sentenced her to five years in imprisonment.

 

The Prophetess’ lawyer, who is the defense counsel, Mumuni Qudus, pleaded with the Court, on behalf of the mother of two, to temper justice with mercy.

 

Justice Solebo therefore, sentenced her (Linda Mabi-Praise), to three years on count one, and two years on count three; a sentence meant to run concurrently.
