Lagos State Ministry of Education Announces Schools Resumption Dates

The Lagos State Ministry of Education, headed by Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, in a Statement issued on Monday, September 6, said, all schools in the State are expected to resume on Monday, September 13, 2021, after a long break.

 

Adefisayo, who announced the modalities for Year 2021/2022 academic session, for both public and private schools, also explained that, students of Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools, will be expected to resume Sunday September 19, 2021. This she said will be done in batches because SS3 students, for the academic Y2020/2021, are currently using some of the schools’ premises, for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASCE), scheduled to end October 6, 2021; adding that, the schools being used, cannot accommodate all the students at once, hence, the need for their resumption in batches.

 

She however declared that,

“Boarders in Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools, as well as SS2 students seeking placement into SS3 classes, are expected to resume on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

 

She added,

“The revision for the classes will run from September 20 to 26, while promotion examination to SS3 classes will start from September 27 to October 8, 2021, all things being equal.

 

Mrs. Adefisayo again explained that, all newly admitted JS1 students, into Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools, in Lagos state, are to resume on Saturday, October 2, 2021, for a week orientation programme, which is meant to intimate them on secondary school structure and modalities.

 

Adefisayo affirmed that, all other returning students, in JS2, JS3, SS1 and the new SS2 students, in various Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools, are to resume on Saturday, October 9, 2021, while classes for all students are to start on Monday, October 11, 2021.

 

She appealed to parents, to comply with the developments of Y2021/2022 academic session, while also advising all students schooling in the State, to be more diligent and devoted to their studies.

 

All students are also expected to adhere with Covid 19 rules and regulations on resumption.
