The Federal Executive Council (FEC), on Wednesday, September 29, has approved a 2-week paternity leave for male federal civil servants, to allow them bond with their new born babies.
Adopted babies less than four (4) months, will also enjoy the privilege of the 14 days bonding periods with their father.
Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, disclosed this after the FEC meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
She explained that, it has become necessary for the Federal Government, FG, to grant paternity leave to male workers, just as their female counterparts for proper bonding especially at the early stage of the child’s life.
The FEC meeting, which was virtual, was presided over by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN).
